ABOUT
Triskelion Counselling & Wellness
The Triskelion is an ancient symbol associated with strength, progress, growth, and overcoming adversity. Its’ three spirals symbolize the connectedness of life-death-rebirth, past-present-future, and body-mind-spirit. Triskelion Counselling and Wellness is based on these concepts, taking a holistic view of individuals and focusing on themes of growth, adaptation, change, and the opportunity to find and create meaning in our lives.
We work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, traumatic events, breaches of trust, grief, loss, and a variety of other concerns.
Professional Qualifications (The Official Stuff)
Hi!
I’m Tara, founder and therapist at Triskelion Counselling and Wellness.
I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature.
We all have unique, challenging, and even gut-wrenchingly painful experiences that have led us to the place we are in right now. I consider it an honor to be trusted with people’s stories of suffering, joy, anger, fear, confusion, sorrow, and success. I offer a space where clients can be (or discover) who they really are in a world where we often get sidetracked by what we think we ‘should’ be, feel or do. I would love to work with you to break free from the expectations of others and set a plan in motion to help you take control of the next chapter in your story.
Real-Life Qualifications (The Unofficial Stuff)
When I am not working with clients or catering to the whims of my spoiled rescue pups, I enjoy hiking, listening to music, attending concerts, watching movies, playing games with my three children, eating chocolate, and watching (not playing) football, basketball, and hockey. I am a lover of music, nature, animals, reading, puns, cheesy ‘dad’ jokes, sunsets, and stars.
I have held many roles and ‘identities’ during my lifetime. I am, or have been, a daughter, sister, student, wife, widow, girlfriend, stay-at-home parent, single working mother, dog mom, friend, and a student (again). Like you, I’ve been through some things. Maybe not the same things, but I understand that life throws both amazing and awful experiences at us, and I welcome the opportunity to help you navigate whatever circumstances have brought you here.
